Pastor: Rev. Dr. Roger Sonnenberg

Pastor Sonnenberg is the pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.  A biography for Pastor Sonnenberg will be published in the future.

Organist: Kenneth Young

Ken began serving St Matthew in 2014 after working 35 years as an engineer for Boeing in Everett.  Ken has a master's degree in Sacred Music (Pensacola Christian College, '92) and is entering his 28th year as a part-time church music staffer.  Ken moved his piano into the sanctuary in 2016 to share it with our congregation and community.  Ken looks forward to our new Bond pipe organ installation, anticipated in late spring or early summer this year, and performing in its dedicatory concert along with guest musicians.  Ken is a composer and arranger of many songs and seeks to record them professionally as the Lord provides the resources.  In addition, Ken plays trumpet in the Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble and has arranged three charts (so far) for the band.

Ken grew up in Port Angeles in the '60s and '70s and is in the Port Angeles High School class of '75.  As a member of the University of Washington class of '80, Ken earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Floyd Young, Ken's father, was the second-in-command at Peninsula College for its first 26 years, from 1961 to 1987.  Ken's mother is a current resident of Sequim.
